PHOTOS - ALGARVE: VILAMOURA A LAGOS

The Eastern Algarve (entre Albufeira &Ayamonte-ESP)

The pictures below may be repetitive. My blog is always a work in progress. So if you saw them in my other "Algarve" Blog, skip down to my next postings in this Blog, which offer lots of information!

VILAMOURA Marina & Centro

Vilamoura is one of the most happening spots in the Algarve, conveniently located between FARO (and its large and modern international airport served by over 20 airlines),which is the Algarve's Capital and Albufeira, the Algarve's "unofficial" capital of tourism; though it now disputes that title with Portimão/Praia da Rocha.

The Algarve is the southernmost point of Portugal and boasts the most western point of mainland Europe at Sagres. The language spoken is Portuguese, but hotels, restaurants and businesses speak good English and German. Portuguese is a romance language belonging to the same family of languages as French, Spanish, Italian and Romanian. Portugal is a member of the European Union and therefore uses the Euro as it's currency.

Spain borders Portugal on it's northern and eastern sides with the Atlantic to the west and across the sea to the south lies North Africa. Needless to say it gets very hot from May to September and Good hot weather can be had in either April or October. You can get good weather in the remaining months however it can get a bit chilly from November to February. If you like a round of Golf then there are plenty of top quality courses to choose from in the Algarve.
